Was a big fan of Dillon.
Thing with who is best etc, I believe you have to just eye test it. Forget vast majority of stats. So many variables come in play with teams, players etc. Like what does Eric Dickerson do behind that cowboys team? What does smith do if he played in Seattle? You have the first RB to take of all RB’s who are you putting on your team? What player does the most things best?
I use to debate Hines Ward was a legit top WR all time. Not a ward or Steelers fan. But I look at how he used his hands to catch balls, his footwork on sideline throws, his blocking was Elite, inside big hit routes he held strong, he had some deep threat, he was good on screens, good on jet sweep plays,
Then I look at Randy. Amazing game changer in many ways and best there was in one aspect. Big tall fast. But was horrible on screens, not a great 2 hand guy and dropped many passes as he desired the 1 hand catch, was not great run blocker, not great and rarely was going to inside route balls on tuff catches. He had some amazing talents.
Was Randy better? I’ll take the safe option in yes. But deep diving and getting away from stats and using eye test on all factors not just one becomes more interesting.
But back to Dillon, he goes overlooked with what he did for bengals and the patriots. Great back in the day. Was big fan of him and Freddy Taylor
